Hi I'm Dawn, and I'm the 'Miss D' behind The Misty Hare Art Studio. In case you hadn't already guessed, I'm a little obsessed with animals! I think I've been like it ever since I was born, and as I grew up my love for them in all their wonderful variety of forms also grew. Its my love for animals that has always inspired me to paint and draw, and I spent many a happy hour as a child with my pencils, paints and paper. I worked with and cared for a huge variety of animals for many years, and I feel that this close contact has helped give me a deeper understanding of both their physical characteristics, and their wonderful, individual personalities, be they big or small!
I specialise in painting on to more unusual surfaces, mainly agate and wood. I also work with more traditional mediums such as paper and canvas. I love painting in fine detail, adding tiny brush strokes to create fur or feathers and capturing the unique spirit of each animal is a joy
